Beatles, Apple, Jobs and Legacy – What We Can Learn?

The world is a better place because of you. Millions of people’s lives are changed as a result of you.  You are a visionary, a creative genius and American business icon, you have inspired and changed millions of people lives. A transformer leaves a legacy.

You have the power to create such a legacy!

What can we learn from the man that has put the world at our fingertips, and trans formed forever the way we connect and communicate with each other?  Who would have thought 56 years ago any of this would be possible?

In speaking about Steve Jobs, Bill Gates said “The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come”.

What do you love most about using your Apple product?

What do you experience using this technology and how does this impact your daily life?

What can we learn from Steve Jobs and how can we transform, impact, and influence other people’s lives? The biggest impact on the business world in 5 decades! Is he the Thomas Edison or the Henry Ford of the 21st century?  Probably a bit of both.  He had the uncanny ability to take an existing technology platform and through true entrepreneurial action, take it to new levels of performance and profit.

Jobs once said “My model for business is The Beatles: They were four guys that kept each other’s negative tendencies in check; they balanced each other. And the total was greater than the sum of the parts. Great things in business are not done by one person, they are done by a team of people”.

What was it that made him such a great leader?

Management Style

Jobs’ aggressive and demanding personality led him to succeed where others failed.  What made Steve such a great leader?  He was loved by many and hated by others.  But all agree that his egocentric, visionary leadership style was as unique as he was. Fortune Magazine wrote that he was “considered one of Silicon Valley’s leading egomaniacs”.

He knew he could transform people lives! He had a deep belief and conviction.

He described his philosophy on vision by sharing one of his favorite quotes by Wayne Gretzky -“I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.’ And we’ve always tried to do that at Apple. Since the very beginning. And we always will.”

Master Marketer and Salesman

A storyteller!  Some have even described him as a magician, a showman.  Jobs had the ability to speak of a piece of paper in such a way that he could bring it to life.  A creator and master of selling a dream solution. Do you think his story telling was drillable? Was it enriching? Did he involve his fans and do you think he built a world for his story to evolve?

He had ability to execute his goals – he took action!

His goal while convalescing recently was to walk and just make it 1 mile to the park and he did.

Polarizing, control

Steve once made a comment to the effect of “do this or you are screwed if you don’t”.  It was his was or the highway, and to his credit , more times than not, his way changed lives and made profits!   His determination and persistence were key to his success!!!

He was bold enough to believe he could change the world and smart enough to do it.  His vision revolutionized how people experience music and technology.

Imagine taking your vision, your belief and talent and using it to help change people’s lives, what is possible? Imagine how you will inspire them, and transform their lives?

What legacy will YOU leave behind?
