Imagine doing what you love everyday!
It doesn’t feel like work, it feels joyful, abundantly happy.
It’s been eight hours already it can’t be surely, can it? It felt just like moments not hours. I could hardly believe it. How can I still have so much energy and my voice didn’t give out? I wish I could do this all the time, everyday and better yet I love this, I love helping and serving people this way. This is exactly how I felt when I was speaking and teaching.
Can you recall a time when you felt something similar? What were you doing, where were you? What did it feel like to you? What were you being?
Certainly I believe we ought to do what we love and more of it for sure. Whether you love gardening, cooking, playing the piano, working or speaking and teaching as I do, I encourage you to do what you love more often.
Sometimes the very thing you most fear can become something you eventually love. For me public speaking was once a fear. When I left the UK in 1997 I hadn’t ever spoken in-front of a group barley at all.
During an interview in the US, I was told I’d be responsible for speaking with a group of fifty or more people each month. In that moment I recall feeling very nervous, my palms began to sweat and my breathing increased rapidly. I couldn’t think or feel of anything worse than speaking in public back then.
Certainly, before I speak now I still have butterflies and a deep desire to serve and add value to my audience, you could say healthy nerves with the intention of serving them well, performing well. It’s hard to believe that something that once felt so scary has become the very thing I love to do. I realized along the way that I actually really love speaking and teaching. You might feel that way too. For me, helping and serving people is of highest priority so when I learned I could do this by teaching and speaking I fell in love with the ‘how’ because it allowed me to do what is at my core, that deep desire to help people.
What do you love to do and or be? What was once a fear that has now become a love for you?
What do you want to do more of, that thing you love in 2014?
Consider these three questions…
1. What do you need to say NO more often too, to allow yourself to do more of what you love?
2. Who are you being, whilst doing what you love?
3. What one thing if you had only one thing to choose, gives you the most joy, happiness and satisfaction in life?
How would you feel, doing what you love everyday? How would your life improve and how much more joyful and happy would you be? Life is too short to not do what you love. What do you want to contribute in life? What difference do you want to make? What is it that makes you feel alive? My challenge to you is this. Go do and be that. Do what makes your heart sing. Do what makes the time fly. Do what fulfills you and answers the call that internal whisper your soul speaks. Answer that call, fan that flame and ignite your souls purpose, that thing that makes your heart sing, go do and be that.
