Healing and Transformation Beyond Rape
Certainly, rape is NO laughing matter! I am grateful to be here today, having survived a near death experience where I was physically attacked by a stranger more than fifteen years ago. He held a razor blade to my neck and raped me. I am grateful that God answered my prayers in that moment and granted me a passport to more time to help other women who have endured a similar experience.
I have learned a great deal through this experience and have come through my own healing journey. For the longest time, I felt a need to cover my body and would not wear a dress and would often blame myself for what happened even though I could not have prevented it. I felt dis-empowered, my life was at stake and following the rape I was left with feelings of anxiety and stress and felt a heightened need to feel safe and secure as a priority. In my coaching practice I help women who have endured similar experiences, and I feel grateful to be in a place today where I feel healed. A journey that has taken a long time and has been as a result of seeking support and help through therapy and coaching and speaking and writing about my experience.
Writing about your experience I believe can help tremendously and I encourage you to journal, write a book, share your story with a friend. It is never too late to speak out and get help.

Statistics of Rape
According to RAINN.org 1 out of every 6 American women, 17 Million, has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime (14.8% completed rape; 2.8% attempted rape). College-aged women are four times more likely to be sexually assaulted than any other age group.
I am grateful to have been recently invited to share my personal story from stage and hope my message was one of helping, inspiring, encouraging and giving hope and belief to other women and men, that it is possible to thrive beyond some of our most difficult life experiences. I have a great deal of empathy and compassion, and a strong desire to help women all around the world rise up beyond rape and other adversities in life.
The healing process IS a journey, and I have found it most helpful working with therapists, and coaches over the years and speaking with others who have had similar experiences. I am here to offer you support and help also. I am available to speak on this issue and also provide coaching and seminars for those wanting help, healing, and transformation.
My heart goes out to anyone who has endured such circumstances. I believe there is healing in sharing our stories and that we can serve and help others as we heal and come through our own experiences. Rape is not a laughing matter.
Take a look, and listen to Glenn Beck as he shares his heartfelt story of how this has affected his family. It is never too late to speak up and share your story. To journey toward healing, to share your story and let your voice be heard. Together we can help many. I am grateful to those who have helped me to find my voice, find the courage to speak out and help many through sharing my story. I am grateful to Tony Robbins, Brendon Burchard and Rick Frishman.
